Dr. Zhicheng Cao works as a professor at the Deptartment of Biomedical Engineering, Xidian University, China. He holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from West Virginia University (USA). He received his BS and MS both from Xi’an Jiaotong University, China. His current research interests include biometrics, machine learning & pattern recognition, computer vision and image processing with focus on multi-/cross-spectral face and periocular recognition. He is the PI/co-investigator of over 10 projects funded by China NSF, China 863, US NSF, US DoD, US NASA. He has published more than 20 indexed papers, authored 3 book, and applied over 10 patents in related area. He is a member of IEEE and SPIE. He serves as an Editorial Board Member of IET Biometrics, IET Software, Computational Intelligence and Neuroscience, Computational and Mathematical Methods in Medicine, etc., and a committee member/organizer for several international academic journals and conferences such as AAIA, CCBR, and a reviewer for journals such as Pattern Recognition, Neurocomputing, Machine Vision and Applications, IET Biometrics, etc. He is a member of IEEE and SPIE, a senior member of CCF and CSOE.
