He receivedthe B.S. degree inmicro-electronics from Tsinghua University, Beijing, China, in1989, the M.S. degree in micro-electronics and solid-state Electronics from Xidian University,Xi'an, China, in 1992,and the Ph.D. degreein microelectronics and Xi`an Jiaotong University, Xi'an, China, in 1992.From 1999 to 2000, he was a Postdoctoral Fellow in Dr. Jian H. Zhao's SiCLAB, department of electrical and computerengineering atRutgers (RU), The State University ofNew Jersey, Piscataway, NJ, USA.
In 1990, Dr. Yuming Zhang joined to Xidian University as an assistant professor.Since 2001, he has been a Full Professor in school of micro-electronics at Xidian University.From 2005 to 2012, he was the vice director of the school of micro-electronics at Xidian University.Currently, he is the dean ofschool of micro-electronics at Xidian University and director of the State Key Discipline Laboratory of Wide Band Gap Semiconductor Technology. His research interests include SiC epitaxial growth, high-voltage devices,MOS physics, and photonic and electronic devicesbased on SiC. In these fields, he has published 2 books and around 200 technical articles in refereed journals and proceedings. He holds2 U.S. patents and around 50 China patents.
