Resume: Vice president of Xidian University, professor, doctor, advisor of PhD candidates, born in the city of Chongqing in March, 1958. Graduated from Xidian University in 1982, majoring in the specialty of semiconductor physics and devices. Earned his doctorate in computational mathematics from Xi’an Jiaotong University in 1990. Senior member of the IEEE, executive director of the Chinese Association of Electronics, chairman of the executive councils of the Shaanxi Provincial Association of Electronics, the Trade Association of Integrated Circuits, and the Shaanxi Provincial Semiconductor Illumination Association. Leader of the experts group for the implementation of the major sci-tech items of “core electronic devices, high-end universal chips and basic software products” in the medium-to-long term program. Leader of the microelectronic technology experts group of the General Armament Department of the People’s Liberation Army of China. Vice chairman of the national steering committee of the specialty of electronic information science and engineering. Member of the Ninth and Tenth Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference and deputy to the Eleventh National People’s Congress of the People’s Republic of China.
    Professor Hao has long been engaged in scientific research and talents training in the fields of  new-type wide-forbidden-band semiconductor materials and devices, micro-nanometer semiconductor devices and highly reliable integrated circuits. He is the chief scientist for the products of the national major basic research “973” program, national “Young & Middle-aged Expert with Outstanding Contributions”, and renowned expert in the field of microelectronic technology. He has made systematic creative achievements both in research on and popularization of the third-generation gallium nitride/silicon carbide (wide-forbidden-band) semiconductor functional materials & microwave devices, and semiconductor illuminating short-wavelength photoelectric materials & devices and in the research on the reliability and failure mechanism of micro-nanometer CMOS devices.

Teaching and research results: The achievements of the research projects Professor Hao took charge of won a second National Invention Award, and a second and a third National Science & Technology Progress Awards. Professor Hao received more than 10 first and second provincial/ministerial sci-tech results awards, and obtained over 20 national invention patents. He published quite a few books, such as “Silicon Carbide Wide Band Gap Semiconductor Technology”,“Theory and Method of Integrated Circuit Manufacturing Dynamics”and “Reliability of Micronanometre CMOS Devices and Failure Mechanism”, and over 300 papers in the famous journals at home and abroad, of which more than 100 have been indexed by SCI.He won the “He-Liang-He-Li” Science and Technology Award in 2010.
