Introduction

In 2009, he graduated from Xidian University with a bachelor's degree in Telecommunication Engineering. From 2009 to 2009, he studied for a master's and doctoral degree in Communication and Information Systems at Xidian University and obtained a PHD degree in engineering. In 2015, he entered the School of Communication Engineering of Xidian University as a postdoctoral researcher. He is currently an associate professor and doctoral supervisor at Xidian University.

He has been engaged in the research of video quality assessment and visual perception characteristics for a long time. He is currently in charge of one National Natural Science Foundation of China general project, one National Natural Science Youth Fund project, one China Postdoctoral Science Foundation project, two central university fund scientific research business projects, and many industry-university-research cooperation projects. He cooperated in the standardization of video quality assessment and participated in the formulation of many international standards such as ITU-T P.1201, ITU-T P.1203, ITU-T P.1204, ITU-T G.1071 and ITU-T P. 917, mainly responsible for algorithm design and performance verification. At present, many core technologies have been adopted by the international standard ITU-T. He has published more than 20 papers in mainstream journals at home and abroad and has been granted 3 national invention patents.

 

Research Interests

1. Video quality assessment for streaming media

For streaming video services, we designed and built a video quality assessment solution for different application scenarios, which can be widely used in different occasions such as video quality monitoring and parameter planning. With its excellent performance, many core technologies of the proposed solution have been adopted by ITU-T international standards.

2. New types of video technology and user QoE assessment

For new types of service, such as cloud VR, 360 degree videos, we designed and built an end-to-end transmission platform with controllable parameters, and designed a user experience quality assessment solution based on service characteristics, which can effectively evaluate the user experience in different services.

3. User visual & behavioral characteristics research

Including analyzing and modeling the behavior, perception, presence and immersion of users in metaverse as well as traditional video interactive services.
