Dr. Jing Cheng is a lecturer in School of Foreign Studies at Xidian University, China. She did her doctoral research on Chinese nationalism, supported by Tomlinson Award of the Asia Research Institute, and received her PhD in International Relations from the University of Nottingham in 2018. Her research interests include Chinese national identity, Internet politics and international communication. She has published articles at Journal of Contemporary China, Journal of Asian and African Studies and Political Studies Review, and written op-ed articles for China Daily, South China Morning Post, The Conversation and The Diplomat. She was a visiting scholar at Imperial College London (2005) and Tsinghua University (2015). She is also a research fellow at Global Governance Institution.
