Jiangtao Cui was born in Pingdu, Shandong Province, China in 1975. He received his Bachelor, Master and Ph.D. Degrees in Computer Science from Xidian University, Xi’an, China, in 1998, 2001 and 2005, respectively. From 2007 to 2008, he was a Postdoctoral Fellow in Dr. Heng Tao SHEN’s Data and Knowledge Engineering Lab, School of Information Technology & Electrical Engineering at the University of Queensland, Brisbane, Australia.

In 2001, Dr. Jiangtao Cui joined Xidian University. In 2006, he was promoted as an Associate Professor of the School of Computer Science and Technology. Since 2011, he has been a Full Professor and a Ph.D. student supervisor. From 2012 to 2018, he was the Vice Dean of the School of Computer Science and Technology. Currently, he is the Executive Dean of the School of Computer Science and Technology, the Director of the National Experimental Demonstration Center of Computer Network and Information Security, the Head of the National First-class Discipline of Computer Science and Technology, the Leader of Data Science and Knowledge Engineering Field, and the Deputy Head of the 2018-2022 Network Engineering Working Group of Teaching Guidance Committee for the Computer Science Major in Higher Educational Institutions. He was awarded with the Shaanxi Outstanding Teacher (2018), the first prize of Shaanxi Higher Education Teaching Achievement (2017, ranked first), the second prize of Shaanxi Higher Education Teaching Achievement (2015, ranked second), and the first prize of Science and Technology Award of Shaanxi Higher Educational Institutions (2019, ranked first).

Dr. Jiangtao Cui’s research interests mainly include complex data query and indexing, data security and privacy preserving and blockchain application technology. In these fields, he has published more than 50 academic papers in top-level conferences and important international academic journals, including IEEE International Conference on Data Engineering (ICDE), ACM SIGMOD International Conference on Management of Data (SIGMOD), International Conference on Very Large Data Bases (VLDB), IEEE Transactions on Knowledge and Data Engineering (TKDE), The VLDB Journal, Information Science, etc. His research has been supported by Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), Scientific Research Foundation for the Returned Overseas Chinese Scholars, the Fundamental Research Funds for the Central Universities. He serves as a grant reviewer for NSFC and the Scientific Research Foundation for the Returned Overseas Chinese Scholars. He also has served as a PC member for more than 10 academic conferences including 2016 ACM Multimedia Conference (ACM MM 2016). In addition, he is a Distinguished Member of China Computer Federation (CCF), a Member of CCF Council, a Member of ACM/IEEE, a Member of CCF Education Committee, a Member of CCF Database Special Committee and Computer Application Special Committee, an Expert in Engineering Education, and Vice Chairman of the Council of Computer Education in Shaanxi Province.
