Xuelin Cao, Female, Ph.D., Associate Professor/Master's Supervisor, member of the National Key Laboratory of Integrated Air-Ground Comprehensive Service Network. She graduated with a Ph.D. from Northwestern Polytechnical University. From 2010 to 2012, she worked as an engineer at Nokia Siemens Networks. From 2017 to 2020, she conducted joint research at the University of Houston, supervised by Professor Zhu Han (IEEE Fellow). From 2020 to 2023, she was a researcher at the Singapore University of Technology and Design, under the mentorship of Professor Chau Yuen (IEEE Fellow) from Nanyang Technological University. In July-August 2023, she visited the Australian National University, the University of Sydney, and the University of New South Wales. From February to August 2024, she will be a visiting scholar at the University of Southampton, UK.

Her research areas include 5G/6G, RIS, MEC, and AI. Over the past five years, she has published more than 50 high-level papers, including in journals such as IEEE JSAC, TWC, Pro. of the IEEE, TMC, TII, INFOCOM, and others. Her publications have a cumulative impact factor exceeding 250, with more than ten papers having an impact factor above 10, and her works have been cited over 1,700 times on ‪‪Google Scholar‬. Three of her papers were selected as hot papers in IEEE Journal on Selected Areas in Communications, one in IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications, and one in IEEE Communications Magazine. She has filed numerous patents and software copyrights. Additionally, she was the sole participant from Xidian University in writing the world's first white paper on large communication models, published by Achievements – IEEE Communications Society Large Generative AI Models in Telecom Emerging Technologies Initiative (comsoc.org).

She has received various accolades, including being honored as a “Huashan Scholar” under Xi’an University of Electronics and Technology’s fifth batch of talent programs, and as a top-tier innovator in the Shaanxi Province Qinchuangyuan Innovation and Entrepreneurship Talent Program. She has led several projects, including the Shaanxi Province Qinchuangyuan high-level innovation and entrepreneurship talent project and a sub-project of the central government’s guidance for local technological development. As a mentor, she guided students to win the gold medal in the 2023 “Internet+” competition in Shaanxi Province. She also received the 2024 Qinchuangyuan Innovation-Driven Platform Construction Model Award.

She serves as the Associate Editor of SN Computer, an Editorial Board member o Applied Soft Computing, and Wireless Communication and Letters, and a Guest Editor for Applied Sciences—Future Trends in Intelligent Edge Computing and Networking. She has served as a Session Chair for IEEE GLOBECOM 2023, Track Chair for VTC 2024 Spring, Workshop Chair for UIC 2024, and has been a long-time TPC member for major conferences like IEEE INFOCOM, ICC, GLOBCOM, VTC, WCNC, TrustCom, and others. She also regularly reviews for journals such as JSAC, TWC, TCOM, TMC, WCM, TDSC, TVT, IOTJ, INFOCOM, and more.

She has long been recruiting master's students and talented undergraduates for research or related competitions, with the aim of publishing high-level papers or winning national-level competition awards. She offers opportunities for students to collaborate with renowned scholars from world-class institutions and can recommend exceptional students for further study at top teams from prestigious universities.
