Bian Wu (Senior Member，IEEE) received the B.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electromagnetic fields and microwave technology from Xidian University, Xi’an, China, in 2004 and 2008, respectively. Since 2008, he worked as a lecture and then associate professor at Xidian University. From March 2013 to February 2014, he was a postdoctoral visitor in Queen Mary, University of London, U.K. He has been promoted to a full professor at Xidian University in July 2015, and the director of the Xi'an Key Laboratory of Millimeter wave and Terahertz Technology in 2020.
His research interests include microwave and millimeter-wave components and antennas, metamaterial-based electromagnetic devices, multifunctional FSS and antennas, millimeter wave and terahertz systems. He has authored or coauthored more than 140 journal publications, 2 books, and has been authorized more than 40 Chinese national invention patents. He won the first prize of University Science and Technology in Shaanxi Province in 2013 and 2022, and the second prize of Science and Technology in Shaanxi Province in 2015. He was the recipient of the Shaanxi Provincial Science Foundation for Distinguished Young Scholars. He has served as the TPC chair of 2024 ACES-China, 2025 IEEE IWS, the technical committee member and session chairman of many international conferences, has served as a Reviewer for IEEE TRANSACTIONS ON MICROWAVE THEORY AND TECHNIQUES (IEEE TMTT), IEEE TRANSACTIONS ON ANTENNAS AND PROPAGATION (IEEE TAP), IEEE MICROWAVE AND WIRELESS COMPONENTS LETTERS (IEEE MWCL), IEEE ANTENNAS AND WIRELESS PROPAGATION LETTERS (IEEE AWPL), IEEE TRANSACTIONS ON ELECTROMAGNETIC COMPATIBILITY (IEEE TEMC), and other international journals.
