董老师的研究方向都是围绕一个研究问题展开的：“中国企业如何创新？”

    这个问题有点大，过去一些年我从创新环境、创新系统、不同行业中的企业创新实践等方面，进行了持续和系统的探索，期望能够得出较为完整的答案。

    这一系列的研究最早是从生产性服务业的企业能力发展开始的，逐渐过渡到了以电子产品为代表的制造业中。在最早的生产性服务业研究中，研究对象包含了大型企业甚至是跨国企业，但是当意识到我们讲到“中国企业”，很大一部分情况下其实指的是中小企业时，在后来的制造业研究中，重点就逐渐放在了数量庞大的中小企业中。

    为了全面地了解中国企业的创新，我也开展了很多创新环境方面的研究，主要集中在技术转移、技术交易、科技成果转化等和技术创新紧密相关的领域，为了解中国企业的创新环境提供了研究基础。

    最后，除了组织层面的创新，我也同时关注创新在个体层面的发生机制，创新的生理基础等，这部分研究刚刚起步。
